02 · Cost guide

What affects the cost of a bathroom renovation?

Every bathroom is different. These are the main items that shape the quotation before work begins.

01

Room size and access

Floor area, stairs, parking, disposal access and working restrictions influence labour and setup.

02

Layout changes

Keeping fixtures in similar positions is usually simpler than relocating plumbing points or changing walls.

03

Tiles and finishes

Tile size, pattern, wall height, niches, tapware and custom cabinetry affect material and installation requirements.

04

Existing conditions

Water damage, failed substrates, termite damage or other concealed issues can only be confirmed after inspection or demolition.

08 · Questions

Bathroom renovations, explained clearly.

How do I get a bathroom renovation quote?
Send your suburb, photos, approximate dimensions and a description of what you want changed. We will discuss the scope and arrange a site inspection where required.
Can I supply my own tiles and fittings?
Yes, this can be discussed during quoting. Confirm product sizes, quantities, lead times and compatibility before ordering. We recommend waiting until the room has been measured and the scope agreed.
Can you change the bathroom layout?
Layout changes can be considered, but relocating plumbing, altering walls or changing structural elements will affect scope, approvals, trades and cost. We assess this during planning.
Who organises the licensed trades?
MakeOver Construction can coordinate the agreed trades and stages. Plumbing, electrical, waterproofing and other regulated work must be completed by appropriately licensed contractors where required.
What happens if damage is found after demolition?
Concealed conditions such as water damage, failed substrate or termite damage cannot always be confirmed beforehand. If discovered, we document the issue and discuss any additional work and cost before proceeding.
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
The timing depends on the scope, room size, trade availability, materials and any concealed issues. Your expected sequence and timing will be discussed before the work is scheduled.
